Why study with Bodhi?

At Bodhi, we specialise exclusively in Early Childhood Education (ECE), offering nationally recognised qualifications that equip aspiring kaiako with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to make a real difference in the lives of tamariki. Our deep focus on ECE means our programmes are tailored to the unique needs of early learning, grounded in Te Whāriki, and designed to reflect the realities of practice in Aotearoa.

Bodhi is proudly embedded within the early childhood sector. Our team, including directors and tutors, are actively engaged in the wider ECE community through ongoing teaching, professional networks, conferences, and collaborations with services across the motu. These strong and trusted partnerships ensure our programmes are current, relevant, and shaped by what the sector truly values.

When you study with Bodhi, you're not just a number. You’ll be part of a small, connected cohort and supported by a dedicated tutor who knows you, your goals, and your learning style. Our one-to-one approach ensures you’re never on your own - whether it’s academic guidance, pastoral care, or navigating field-based learning.

At the heart of Bodhi is our unwavering commitment to students. Our learners consistently tell us they feel seen, valued, and supported throughout their journey with us. We believe this personalised approach, combined with our strong sector connections and practical, hands-on learning experiences, creates graduates who are not only qualified - but confident, capable, and connected.

Choose Bodhi - and become part of a community that nurtures great teachers for our youngest learners.

  • Reflective Practice - We encourage ongoing self-reflection to foster professional growth and deeper understanding.
  • Partnerships and Community Engagement - We build strong, respectful relationships with whānau, communities, and the ECE sector.

Pathways to further study

At Bodhi, our Level 5 and Level 6 NZ Diplomas in Early Childhood Education and Care have been intentionally designed with all Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand’s teacher registration criteria embedded throughout the courses. This ensures that the diplomas collectively provide the equivalent of the first two years of a Bachelor of Teaching (ECE) programme.

For our students, this means their studies at Bodhi are directly aligned with the professional standards and expectations of the teaching profession. Graduates can seamlessly transition into the third year of a Bachelor of Teaching (ECE) with cross-credit recognition, saving significant time and cost while entering with a strong foundation of practical experience, cultural responsiveness, and pedagogical knowledge. Ultimately, this pathway supports our students in moving confidently towards teacher registration and a career as qualified kaiako in Aotearoa New Zealand.
